TOURISM DEVELOPMENT AND ECONOMIC GROWTH IN BANGLADESH: NEW EVIDENCE FROM NONLINEAR AUTOREGRESSIVE DISTRIBUTED LAG

چکیده
We examine the long-run relationship between tourism development and economic growth using Nonlinear Autoregressive Distributed Lag (NARDL) model for Bangladesh annual data from 1980-2016. find an asymmetric Bangladesh's economy since a one percent increase in receipt increases by about 0.19 percent. On contrary, due to decline receipt, will decrease 0.66 So, have higher negative impact on than Bangladesh, which result is important current pandemic situation Covid-19. also reveal that of positive change revenue GDP stabilizes around 8 years; however, adverse does not stabilize 15 years. recommend systematic allocation resources required promote stimulate industry favourable country's development. Structural breaks, tourism development, and economic growth: Evidence from Taiwan
Our paper differs from previous studies by examining the issue of whether regime changes have broken down the stability of the long-run relationships between tourism development and real GDP in Taiwan for the 1959–2003 period. We empirically investigate the co-movements and the causal relationships among real GDP, tourism development, and the real exchange rate in a multivariate model. We use t...
متن کاملThe Impact of Government Education Expenditures on the Human Development Index in Iran: Autoregressive Distributed Lag
In recent years, the inclusion of human development in the country's development plans shows the importance of the human development index for policy-making and planning. One of the important factors that can play a great role in improving the human development index is education. In this regard, The present study tries to investigate the effect of educational expenditures in higher, secondary ...
متن کاملEconomic growth and energy consumption: New evidence using continuous wavelet
This study examines the relationship between energy consumption and economic growth in the Iranian economy. To that end, a wavelet transformation technique is used, which allows us to combine the time domain and frequency domain characteristics of two time series together. Using this approach and data for the period 1991:2 – 2017:1, this study tries to overcome the shortcomings of standard eco...
متن کاملIs Tourism Development a Sustainable Economic Growth Strategy in the Long Run? Evidence from GCC Countries
The main objective of this study is to investigate the causal relationship between tourism development and economic growth in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in a multivariate model, using panel data for the period 1995–2012. The study adopts a panel Granger causality analysis approach to assess the contribution of tourism to economic growth in GCC countries as a whole, and in each ind...
متن کاملFactor Augmented Autoregressive Distributed Lag Models
This paper proposes a factor augmented autoregressive distributed lag (FADL) framework for analyzing the dynamic effects of common and idiosyncratic shocks. We first estimate the common shocks from a large panel of data with a strong factor structure. Impulse responses are then obtained from an autoregression, augmented with a distributed lag of the estimated common shocks. The approach has thr...
